COMMON LOCKS

Magnetic Locks

This type of lock is made up of an electromagnet that normally ranges from 300lbs – 1200lbs of holding force along with an armature plate. The electromagnet is usually attached to the frame of the door while the armature plate is attached to the door itself. When power is applied to the electromagnet 12volts DC or 24volts AC depending on the type of magnet, it engages the plate magnetically and keeps the door locked.

Electric Door Strikes

This type of lock is used as replacement to the traditional strike faceplate, which is often used to secure latched doors. The mechanism works with 12volts DC current, which can either lock or release the latch, normally open/ normally closed (N.O or N.C) circuit. Depending on how the strike is installed, it can be used as a multifunctional lock.
