Types of Cables
Cat5e and Cat6 are categories of cables that have been used to connect computers and other electronic devices to the Internet. Cat5e (Category 5 Enhanced) cables are an upgraded version of the more commonly used Cat5 cable. They are capable of providing a greater bandwidth and improved speeds, as well as increase frequency for runs of up to 100 meters. Cat6 (Category 6) cables are the newest and most advanced type of cable, offering higher throughputs than the previous categories. These cables are designed for gigabit speeds and are capable of carrying both Ethernet and PoE (Power over Ethernet).
